Three generations, one heart

Although Totó la Momposina is now retired from the stage, her music lives on in every voice, every drum, and every memory we share with you. MONO COLORAO is a new chapter in this legacy, an encounter between past and present that reminds us that tradition is inherited and celebrated.

A previously unseen gem

The EP opens with “Mono Colorao,” a recording that had remained hidden in the archives until now. It was recorded in 2000 in the studio, alongside her daughter Euridice and her granddaughter María del Mar , who was just nine years old at the time. Those were special days: touring Europe together, bringing our music to distant stages, and the power of three generations singing in unison was captured in this recording.

Classics that shine again

In addition, we've recovered four songs from my first sessions in Paris (1984), now remastered with the utmost care so that they sound as they deserve :

  • La Verdolaga

  • Rosa

  • Tres Golpes

  • Mojana

Some of these pieces are already known to those who have accompanied Totó from the beginning, others are secrets from the archive that we share with all of you.

Rhythm, Carnival and heart

The EP closes with “Garabatos,” recorded live by his group in 2001. This track is an explosion of rhythm and tradition, deeply connected to the spirit of the Barranquilla Carnival .

Totó's legacy, his music

These recordings not only tell their story: they are a bridge that unites generations, an invitation for the music of the Colombian Caribbean to continue to be played, celebrated and lived in each one who listens to it.

Today, although she no longer performs on stages, she remains present in every chord, every drum, and every voice she has sung. This is a gift for you: tradition, memory, and family, forever alive.
